A new series of works following a limited set of rules to draw lines and then color some of the spaces between these lines with a defined set of default colors. The drawing rules could be written down as instructions for a computer to produce an endless stream of possible images. The results would be very similar. The only difference seems that the necessary selection would come after automatic execution instead of during the manual drawing. And that maybe, if I am very lucky, I might stumble upon a really extraordinary composition in that endless stream of images. And of course the computer gives me the impression that the images are done by somebody else and thus creating the illusion that I am able to be the spectator of my one art.
Some say that the hands have their own mind. Usually it is to praise the importance of handcrafting in art. We should add that the mind also has its own hands, to praise the importance of thinking in art. Best art happens when the mind of the hands works with the hands of the mind.
