Saturday 24 May 1997 – Sunday 28 September 1997, Voorkamer, Lier, Belgium
Voorkamer took the iniative to organise a group project during the summer of 1997 called “Alom en Hiernevens” (translation: “Everywhere and Nextdoor”) in the former Zwartzuster retirement home (21 empty rooms, a winter garden (vide), and a neo-gothic chapel).
A number of transformations were undertaken, in collaboration with an independent architect collective, to optimize the buildings capacities to show artworks. 38 artists were invited to participate with existing or site-specific work.
During the same period VOORKAMER organised window installations in their own space, created by international artists for the project “Unter Anderen – Among Others 2″.
